Shift Pattern: Sun to Thur or Wed to Sun from 06:00 - 14:30

Pay Rate: £4.08 p/hr

Here at Northampton, we operate one of the most impressive facilities in Europe, based across a campus of 5 manufacturing units, and we have a team of around 2,000 colleagues making high quality premium products every day . We are the sole supplier of sandwiches, wraps, rolls and sushi for Marks & Spencer.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Carry out day-to-day yard duties including manual handling of waste, waste segregation, unloading vehicles, and maintaining the yard area to an M&S standard.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the entire site, including sweeping, litter picking, emptying bins, cleaning smoking shelters, and cleaning around and under skips and compactors.
  • Operate baling equipment, forklifts, and other MHE safely and in line with training, completing all required safety and equipment checks.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely by following company health and safety policies, including chemical handling, decanting, and transport procedures.
  • Work independently to a set schedule, respond to unforeseen events, and report any incidents or accidents using the correct escalation process.
  • Carry out the role outdoors in all weather conditions while promoting a safe working environment across the site.

What we are looking for

  • Basic English and Maths skills, including reading and writing in English and accurately recording and booking quantities on systems and tracking additional stock issue
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to complete orders and store deliveries
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing traceability and compliance paperwork
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Required not but essential

  • A valid Forklift licence

  • A valid driving licence

  • An understanding of waste segregation
