Here in Boston we employ around 400 colleagues and produce ready to eat salads, prepared vegetables and snacks for many of the major retailers such as Coop, Boots, Greggs, Costco, Spar and BOL.

 

What you'll be doing 

As a Hygiene Line Coordinator you will be expected to provide factory floor leadership to operatives working as part of a team to carrying out tasks of cleaning across the factory in line to the daily requirements, observing dismantling and cleaning of various equipment in line with health and safety procedures and requirements, inspecting when required to ensure the standard hygiene requirements are being achieved.

What you’ll be doing;

  • Delegating day to day tasks to hygiene operatives according to the daily requirements, making sure that every operative is following company procedures for health and safety, to create a safe working environment, Providing leadership to operatives in their role, looking for ways of continuous improvement and ensuring hygiene is done to the standard hygiene requirements, Ensuring break needs are met, covering breaks and sickness when required for selected tasks.
  • Overseeing and aiding in preparing areas for deep cleaning by bagging/covering any electrical components such outlets, motors etc… dismantling appropriate parts of machinery to allow operatives in cleaning/pressure washing in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Stepping up into Hygiene Zone Manager role for holiday/absence cover.
  • Ensuring that the removing of all food debris from all surfaces and machinery across the factory is being achieved, overseeing that chemicals are dosed to the correct concentration before application to work surfaces, making sure the rinsing process removes the chemical residues. Highlighting any issues to the hygiene management.
  • Ensure that all production areas and all machinery is cleaned adequality, for production to commence without delay and to avoid re-cleaning of any areas found not to have been cleaned to the required standards by carrying out final inspection in the required areas.
  • Ensure the whole team are handling chemicals safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures in place, Wearing and maintaining of the appropriate PPE provided when carrying out daily task.
  • Replenishing any equipment and PPE when requested for operatives to carry out their daily tasks, ensuring that the equipment is always available for carry out the tasks without delay, to prevent any downtime for production to restart.
  • Provide education and training to operational colleagues and other teams to ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards
  • Completing and signing off any relevant paperwork timely and efficiently when required, ensuing that the team are also completing their paperwork when required. Ensure all paperwork is signed off and given to the hygiene manager for validation and filing.
  • Maintain efficiency and performance criteria to the agreed level and monitor performance of teams and individuals and be able to offer training and guidance when needed. Reporting of any highlighted discrepancies to line manager and quality team.
  • Following all factory and health and safety procedures in place, reporting any discrepancies and/or issues to technical and/or management when/if they arise, attend training and other personal development activities, deemed appropriate, provided by the company, act as a buddy to onboard new starters when needed, seeking to continually find a better way of doing the job in terms of safety, quality and ease.
