Role Purpose

To lead the HR teams across a large and complex single site facility in Manton Wood, Sheffield, to implement the HR agenda by partnering with the relevant business leaders to develop management capability, manage talent and drive colleague engagement to enable achievement of strategic priorities

 

What you’ll be doing

*       Partner with business leaders and their leadership teams to ensure that there is a relevant site functional People Plan in place which addresses local concerns but is aligned to the agreed people strategy and that it is being implemented and prioritised

*       Provide individual and team development to site senior leadership teams to drive performances which will deliver business and individual goals

*       Lead the regular review, planning and activation of labour needs and utilisation in line with business needs over the short to long term and make recommendations for actions to be taken which will address any current or foreseen issues

*       Take the lead on complex, senior level or sensitive ER cases and manage them to effective conclusions which minimize business risk using external legal advice where necessary and ensure that team cases are closely monitored to avoid escalations

*       Provide support, information and direction to site/depot HR teams to ensure that team members are engaged, focused, and delivering to their potential and that succession and development plans are in place and that under-performance is quickly address

*       Ensure that all sites and depots have an engagement calendar aligned to the Greencore Events calendar and that community activities are planned and executed and publicised internally and externally

*       Implement effective processes to collate key performance indicator data and use it to provide insight for relevant forums and to develop actions to address areas of concern

*       Work with HR and operational teams to ensure there is a clear talent plan in place for sites and depots which will provide career and succession opportunities for colleagues

*       Support the achievement of our sustainability plan through leading with a sustainability mindset

*       Support the achievement of our inclusion and diversity aspirations through role modelling and personally leading and hiring inclusively, embracing and encouraging diversity

*       Implement and ensure compliance with our data management and governance policies, procedures and/or guidance governance approaches so that associated risks are mitigated and managed

 

Indicative Scale and Scope

*       Head count (including average agency) – up to 3500 across multiple facilities or >1500 for single facility

*       Direct reports of 5 or more plus wider team of up to 30

 

What we’re looking for

*       Proven experience in HR leadership and business partnering, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment

*       Experience in translation of strategic objectives into a meaningful people strategy

*       Highly effective stakeholder management skills

*       Proactive, organised and able to work flexibly in order to meet deadlines and have the drive to deliver results

*       Experience of working with a diverse workforce

*       Experience of leading and developing HR professionals up to and including HR Business Partner level

*       Experience of working autonomously and with minimal supervision and support

*       Ability to manage a broad agenda of day to day issues, forward-thinking and planning and complex labour and Industrial relations issues at the same time and remain resilient

*       Ability to work at pace to respond to the ever-changing environment of chilled food manufacturing and distribution while These may be trained or developed. These do not all need to be in place at recruitment.
