What you'll be doing

As a Raw Material Technologist (12 Months FTC) you will help deliver a coordinated technical approach to material management by supporting the site teams in ensuring that all raw materials and packaging solutions are safe and conform to all relevant specification, legislation and customer requirements

  • Facilitate supplier change management including supplier technical compliance, supplier contingency planning and internal Greencore site support to drive improved food safety and quality
  • Help and support sites with supplier performance, monitoring, key performance indicator generation and tracking to improve performance with regards to retailer requirements, food safety and quality
  • Support and help manage relevant raw material change management projects including MIT delivery and continuous improvements across multiple sites to realise country wide benefits
  • Work with and support subject matter experts in delivery of improved supply chain efficiencies and complexity reduction within the supply base to improve visibility and reduce risk for Greencore
  • Contribute with subject matter expert and site team on raw material innovation project delivery to promote improvements in food safety and quality
  • Work with the site teams to deliver group standardisation e.g., TQM adoption, micro and nutritional testing plans to best utilise resource and budgets
  • Work with the purchasing and business wide subject matter experts to identify, share and communicate best practice with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver overall competitive advantage
  • Work in partnership with suppliers to improve communication networks, support development and provide overall technical and commercial advantage for the business

  • Detail oriented
  • Microsoft excel skills
  • Holds an advanced food hygiene level 4, has a level 3 HACCP certified and level 2 Health and Safety qualification
  • Experience and a practical working knowledge of allergen management
  • Working knowledge of internal audit requirements and programmes
  • Experience of maintaining a QMS
  • Experience of technical strategy implementation
  • Delivery of BRC certification or equivalent
  • Experience of root cause analysis techniques for problem solving and project delivery
  • Experience of supplier approval process and procedures
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret shelf-life results
  • Demonstrable experience of applying food safety legislation to manufacturing practice

These do not all need to be in place at recruitment. These may be trained or developed.
