Here at Bow, we have a team of around 800 colleagues. We produce sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls and baguettes for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons.

What you'll be doing

This position is critical in ensuring that all necessary HACCP & Pre-requisite checks are carried out to meet Food Safety, Quality, Authenticity & Legal Standards. The role is one of the focal points for a successful implementation of a QA culture within the business. To maintain the highest standards of Product Safety, Quality as well as demonstrating effective compliance with legal requirements, Health & Safety and BRC standards.

Key Activities

- Carry out internal factory and process audits.

- Monitor and audit CCPs (Critical Control Points), their checks and records in line with procedures.

- Identify and report nonconformance promptly, seek resolution and ensure the corrective actions carried out to the required standards in a timely manner.

- Audit traceability system and ensure that all Technical Documents are completed accurately and signed off.

- Raw materials, WIP and finished products quality checks throughout the process

- Prepare, trend and analyze technical data and reports (Non conformance/ On hold/Concession/Taste panel/KPI logs etc.)

- Liaise directly with line operatives, Production Supervisors on all aspects of product safety, legality and quality standards. Communicate the issues to area and technical management promptly.

- Ensure GMP standards and allergen segregation maintained.

- Ensure Sample Collection Regime is followed.

- Monitoring of chillers and freezers to ensure the units are working to the correct temperature tolerances. - Audit and check metal detection system, calibrate and set up as require.

- Carry out environmental and product sampling (swabbing, water collection, ingredients and finished product sampling)

- Audit hygiene standards.

- Calibration/Verification of scales, pH and temperature measuring equipment.

- Chemical concentration checks.

- Carry out Quality Panels and action on quality and process improvements.

- Carry out coaching, training and ongoing education of factory personnel at all levels in relation to food safety & quality systems.

- Investigate customer complaints / Micro and Chemical Out of specifications.

- Update technical check sheets / procedures as require.

- Ensure that QA support is provided during Product Launch/Trials/Customer visits.

- Maintain a flexible approach to work patterns as the business may demand.

- Perform any other relevant responsibilities given by senior management.

Shift Pattern: 4 ON 4 OFF from 5.30 PM to 06:00 AM
