Here at Heathrow, we have a team of around 400 colleagues. We produce gluten free sandwiches and ready to eat or reheat sandwiches, wraps and other bread-based products, salads and ready meals for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Asda, Aldi, Co-op, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.
What you'll be doing
As a Process Control Operator
- You will be responsible to provide a complete Food Safety and Quality Assurance function to various department taking an active role within the Quality team to ensure that all products are manufactured safely and hygienically from the best quality raw materials to the highest possible quality standards.
- Be responsible for ensuring weights, temperatures, dates, and labels are correct on our amazing products
- Be aware of any new products, changes to specifications, and promotions from our customers, and ensure that your colleagues on the production line follow company procedures and customer specifications
- Be responsible for identifying when work is inaccurate to take corrective actions and initiatives, accurately isolating any ingredient, packaging, or final product that may have any issues
- Comply with all technical and safety procedures, the system draws on the relevant aspects of the quality manual, to ensure the products supplied are safe and legal in accordance with current legislation including HACCP
What we’re looking for
Full training will be provided if successful in this role but are looking for the following knowledge and experience:
- Ideally experience within a food manufacturing environment or similar environment
- Good Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Ability to work in a fast past, chilled environment
- Has a keen eye for detail and can demonstrate working in a safe manner and to good H&S practices
- Able to manage the team and follow management instructions and procedures
- Good communicator and ability to work in a team
- Basic Awareness of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene
