Here at Bow, we have a team of around 800 colleagues. We produce sandwiches, wraps, platters, baguettes, sub rolls for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons.

 

What you'll be doing 

To ensure that we follow all Good Manufacturing Practices during our Preparation – including but not limited to regular hand washing, the wearing of overalls and hairnets and the coverage of ingredients. 

  To prepare ingredients and mixes according to our procedures, ensuring that meet or exceed our customers’ requirements as documented in our specifications

  To ensure that traceability information is accurate on all ingredients, mixing sheets is accurate. This includes ingredient labelling.

  To work with the team to ensure that tasks are undertaken as efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure that we are able to maintain excellent levels of service to the manufacturing lines. 

  Ensure minimal ingredient wastage by weighing all ingredients as required and stock rotating using a first in, first out approach. 

  Monitor ingredient use by dates and plans to ensure that the products we produce have sufficient available life for the finished assembled products. 

  Take part in our shift stock taking process as requested, ensuring diligence and accuracy. 

  Follow all reasonable requests of site Leaders and/or Managers.

  To escalate any issues with carrying out the above activities to your Line Manager in a timely manner. Do not be afraid to stop a task if you feel our Safety, Health or Environment or Food Safety & Quality is being compromised.

 

To work as a skilled operator within a team receiving and preparing ingredients ready for use on our production lines. Together, the Preparation Kitchen team staff a number of different stations and processes, including ingredient transfer, product decanting, slicing, dicing, opening and ingredient blending. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring that we make great food and ensuring our process is as sustainable as possible.

Shift Pattern: 4 ON 4 OFF from 6 PM to 6 AM

 

Payrate: £ 11.64 per hour

 

What we’re looking for 

Experience of working in a food production environment desired, but not always essential. Experience of working in a role involving manual handling desired. On the job training in all tasks and in using all machinery provided (no task specific experience necessary)
