Job description
Why Greencore?
We’re one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers, employing over 14,000 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots across the UK. We supply all the UK’s food retailers with everything from sandwiches, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles and ready meals, and in FY24, we generated revenues of £1.8bn.
Our mission is to make every day taste better.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the health and wellbeing of colleagues across three vibrant sites:
- Greencore Atherstone — Carlyon Road Industrial Estate, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 1LQ
- Greencore Tamworth — Core 42 Business Park, Meridian Drive, Dordon, Tamworth, B78 1ST
- Greencore Bristol — Unit 4, Bristol Distribution Park, Hawkley Drive, Woodlands Road, Bradley Stoke, BS32 0BF
Tamworth and Atherstone are located close together, with Bristol a little further afield. We’re looking for someone who is confident managing their own time and travel between these locations. There’s no fixed schedule - we trust you to plan regular visits, ensuring all health surveillance and on-site support needs are met. Flexibility is key: occasionally, you may adjust your working hours to connect with colleagues on night shifts. In return, you’ll enjoy the freedom to manage your diary and balance your travel in a way that works for you and the business - offering flexibility beyond a typical fixed schedule.
You’ll become part of a business that values care, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver comprehensive new starter health screening for all colleagues, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards
- Manage and maintain health surveillance programmes across the three sites, guided by risk assessments and legislation
- Provide expert advice and guidance on sickness absence referrals, rehabilitation plans, workplace adjustments, and redeployment
- Maintain confidential medical records in line with company policy and NMC guidelines
- Promote workplace health and wellbeing through educational initiatives and health campaigns
- Offer clear, practical advice to managers on occupational health issues
- Plan, prioritise, and manage your own workload and site visits with autonomy and accountability
- You’ll work with the support of clear frameworks and trusted processes, while shaping your approach to meet business needs
- Occasionally flex working hours to meet operational needs and support night shift colleagues
What we’re looking for
- Registered Nurse with Occupational Health qualifications (NMC Part 3 register)
- Strong understanding of health surveillance requirements, health promotion, and workplace health standards
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence across all levels
- Organised, self-motivated, and confident in managing your own multi-site schedule
- Calm, professional, and discrete in handling sensitive situations
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all record-keeping
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites
We’re not all the same at Greencore, and our differences help us make every day taste better for all our stakeholders. We truly put our people at the core and are proud of our diversity.
What you’ll get in return
- Competitive salary plus car allowance
- Holidays
- Pension up to 8% matched
- Life insurance up to 4x salary
- Company share save scheme
- Greencore Qualifications
- Exclusive Greencore employee discount platform
- Access to a full Wellbeing Centre platform
Throughout your time at Greencore, you’ll be supported with on-the-job training and development opportunities to help you grow and thrive in your career.
If this sounds like you, join us and grow with Greencore — be part of driving our future success.
