We’re looking for a people-focused HR Advisor to join our site HR team at Manton Wood on a permanent basis, supporting one of our busiest and most dynamic manufacturing environments.  

Please note: This is a site-based role requiring you to be present on-site five days a week at Manton Wood. The role is full time, Monday to Friday, with regular late shifts required to interface with our night shift and 24/7 operation. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

As HR Advisor, you’ll deliver a proactive, professional and people-focused HR service that supports line managers and colleagues through the full range of employee relations activity on site. 

You will: 

  • Provide timely, practical advice and guidance to line managers on a wide range of ER issues, from day-to-day people queries through to more complex casework 
  • Manage a high-volume ER caseload, ensuring issues are progressed promptly, fairly and in line with Greencore policy, process and employment law 
  • Support formal meetings and hearings (investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence) including preparation of documentation and note-taking where required 
  • Help maintain positive relationships with site trade union / colleague representatives, supporting collective consultation and local agreements 
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across the site—from production and operational leaders to support functions and senior managers 
  • Analyse ER and absence data and contribute to site-wide plans and projects that improve engagement, attendance and colleague experience 
  • Support HR cycles and activity such as probation, performance, talent and succession, ensuring managers are confident and equipped to lead their teams 
  • Flex your working hours to align with operational needs, including regular late shifts and occasional early/night-shift meetings to maintain visibility and support across all shifts 

What we’re looking for 

  • Strong experience in an HR role with a clear focus on employee relations, ideally within a fast-paced, operational or manufacturing environment 
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume ER caseload, balancing pace with accuracy, fairness and good judgement 
  • Confidence to coach, influence and when needed, challenge line managers and stakeholders in a unionised setting 
  • Strong knowledge of core employment law principles and HR best practice, with the ability to translate these into practical, site-friendly guidance 
  • A clear, calm and professional communicator—comfortable handling difficult conversations and sensitive issues 
  • Highly organised and resilient, able to prioritise and stay focused in a demanding, 24/7, production-led environment 
  • CIPD part-qualified or working towards CIPD (or equivalent experience).
