Job description

Fixed Term Contract - 16 Months

 

Role Purpose:

 

Lead the preparation of internal and external financial reporting of Greencore Group results, ensuring that the Group has appropriate accounting policies in line with accounting standards and determine appropriate accounting treatment for complex and unusual transactions

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Provide leadership and direction to the financial reporting team to ensure they are engaged, focused and delivering to their full potential
  • Review and work with key stakeholders to prepare the Group Financial statements (annual and half year) for issue to the London Stock Exchange
  • Research technical accounting issues to provide advice and guidance on the appropriate accounting treatments, for current and emerging issues, which ensure that the Group are complying with financial reporting requirement
  • Efficient co-ordination of the statutory financial statements to ensure completed within agreed timelines and to high standard
  • Review insights and commentary for monthly consolidated financial reporting to be circulated to the Group executive and Board of Directors in line with the Group’s reporting timescales
  • Ensuring that Group Finance are completing target projects within well-defined timelines and ensuring that all required stakeholders are engaged and aware (e.g., intercompany balances clean up, liquidation of entities, dormant company audit exemption etc)
  • Support the achievement of our sustainability plan through leading with a sustainability mindset
  • Support the achievement of our inclusion and diversity aspirations through role modelling and personally leading and hiring inclusively, embracing and encouraging diversity
  • Implement and ensure compliance with our data management and governance policies, procedures and/or guidance governance approaches so that associated risks are mitigated and managed

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant with at least 5 years post qualified experience
  • Evidence of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge
  • Advanced level influencing skills across multiple stakeholders
  • Capable of working effectively across numerous different stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines managing multiple priorities whilst maintaining a good attention to detail * Analytical skills with the ability to research, understand and resolve a wide range of finance issues * Experienced in the requirements of PLC reporting
