Job description
Why Greencore?
Following the combination with Bakkavor in January 2026, we’re one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, driven by a simple purpose: to make every day taste better.
As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US. Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between. In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately £4bn.
Our extensive direct to store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food both our own and from trusted partners to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best, whenever and wherever they shop.
We are looking to appoint three Business Planning Managers into our Supply Chain function, with one role aligned to each sector. Location is flexible; however, there will be a requirement to travel to sites within your sector.
What you’ll be doing
- In this role you will lead the supply pillar of the business planning process for a business sector, developing, implementing and overseeing capacity planning strategies for business growth, analysing data, creating evaluated capacity models, managing budgets and coordinating with sales, finance and operations in senior planning forums. You will focus on turning operational and logistical strategic vision into actionable network and capacity plans to ensure strategic and business planning objectives are met and decisions are made.
- Define long-term goals from strategic business plans, identifying opportunities and planning for network optimisation through leadership of the supply planning processes for the business sector.
- Ensure consistency and alignment across the business sector in business planning processes to deliver clear capability planning and strategy deployment with Commercial, Operational and Financial leads as required.
- Lead monthly business planning processes to ensure decisions can be made on the operational/logistical needs in required time to deliver the required sales, portfolio and capability and support the building of operations and logistics strategy, ensuring incremental growth is delivered for the business.
- Support leadership of weekly planning processes by exception (deferring to capacity planning managers as much as possible) to ensure decisions can be made on the execution of operations and logistics plans.
- Manage budgets, business plans, forecasting and analysing of planning project returns. Collate the monthly reporting of supply planning activity including cost, margin and volume tracking along with capability performance, throughput and demonstrated output and critical supply chain resource management.
- As a key leader in the integrated business planning (IBP) process, decide upon issues affecting supply planning across the business sector and ensure recommendations reach the reconciliation and management reviews, in conjunction with IBP and business leadership peers.
- Measure supply planning in the business by looking at customer and supplier service level, and operational and logistical plan attainment, factoring in network cost, product quality, stock holding and capacity achievement.
- Actively manage organisational risk related to both cyber security and data, by committing the necessary focus, resource and investing in the skills and experience required to ensure compliance to relevant policies and legislation, along with taking ownership for personal and commercial data processed throughout the group.
What we’re looking for
- Degree-level qualification preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong understanding of supply and demand planning processes, with the ability to balance priorities and optimise outcomes.
- Proven experience in sales order processing and distribution planning, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from order to delivery.
- Customer-focused mindset, with experience managing expectations and delivering a high standard of service.
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, staying organised and proactive under pressure.
- Advanced computer literacy, confident working with systems, data, and planning tools to drive performance.
- We’re not all the same at Greencore and our differences help us to make every day taste better for all our stakeholders. We truly put our people at the core and are proud of our diversity.
If this sounds like you, join us and grow with Greencore, and be a part of driving our future success.

- Pension up to 8% matched
- Life insurance up to 4x salary
- Company share save scheme
- Greencore Qualifications
- Exclusive Greencore employee discount platform
